Nextep organization finished a four day training session held in its HQ in Qamishli (a city in northeastern Syria) about teaching adaptation methods in cooperation with the Children and War Foundation, and under the supervision of Dr. Massa AL-Kerdi and Mr. Ali Al-Zoubi, on sunday 28/11/2021.

The training session trained 20 people of civil society organization workers, and revolved around teaching adaptation methods to children affected by war, who lived through war events from shelling to bombing to killing and others.
The trainees acquired skills that help them teach children different techniques to overcome their lived experiences of painful war events, whether during displacement or asylum or other situations.

The training session also included teaching the trainees how to teach the children’s parents techniques that mitigate the shocking impacts of their experiences and engage the parents in their children’s mental health recovery.
The training session was conducted over four days, in which the trainees underwent practical tests after the end of a theoretical module, in order to reach a deeper understanding of the required techniques for children and the aim of each one, additionally clarifying some common challenges that may appear when applying these techniques.
