On August 12, 2021، Nextstep Organization completed a six-day training on the basics of journalism and an introduction to gender-sensitive journalism, in cooperation with the Free Media Association. The training has been conducted at the organization’s headquarters in Qamishli in northeast Syria
The implementation of the training course emerges from the organization’s objectives to consolidate the principles of professional and ethical media, which serve the development and peace-building issues, and mobilize to reach gender-sensitive media

Journalist Alan Hasan trained the targeted group in the basics of journalism, which lasted for four days, and journalist Arya Haji trained them in gender-sensitive journalism, which lasted for one day, while the two trainers devoted the last day to evaluate the group’s pieces from both journalistic and gender perspectives
The training targeted eight journalists working in media and Autonomous Administration institutions, in addition to civil society workers
The training focused on guiding the beneficiaries towards knowing the sound basis and ethics of journalistic work, spreading the correct concept of gender, and how engendering their upcoming press materials
